Ava's accumulator detail.png

Ava's accumulator is a reward from Animal Magnetism if you have fifty Ranged or college upon completion (players with lower than l Ranged will instead receive Ava'southward attractor). The accumulator can pick upward a histrion's ranged ammunition afterward they fire information technology, and volition likewise randomly attract metal items (steel arrows, darts, med helms, bars, nails and knives, fe ore, and toy mice) into the player's inventory. If the player'southward inventory is full, the attracted item will be dropped at their feet, unless the item can be equipped if that equipment slot is costless i.e. knives, darts, arrows, steel med helm. Like all of Ava'due south devices, the accumulator will not work when metal torso armour (Ahrim's top included) is worn, every bit this will cause 'interference'. Proselyte and Shayzien both work with Ava's Devices.

Ava (plant in Draynor Manor) volition upgrade the attractor for anyone who obtains 50 Ranged later on the quest for a price of 75 steel arrows, along with either 999 coins or an attractor (If you lot bring both coins and an attractor, the attractor will exist used). After that, it can be upgraded to Ava's assembler (upon completion of Dragon Slayer II) for Vorkath's head and 75 mithril arrows, likewise as 4999 coins or an Accumulator.

Upon dying, if it is not an item kept on death, it will exist stored in the actor'southward grave until reclaimed. If non reclaimed within an hour, information technology tin can be reacquired by speaking with Ava and purchased for 999 coins and 75 steel arrows. Multiple devices may be possessed at the same fourth dimension.

The accumulator gives the second best Ranged attack bonus for the cape slot.

If ranged equipment is equipped, the steel arrows will be automatically generated into the arrow slot.

As with Ava'south other devices, Ava'south accumulator can be used on both Lanthus in the Castle Wars lobby and Nomad in the Soul Wars lobby to permanently actuate the effect in the minigames.

The Ava's accumulator tin can exist combined with the max cape to change its appearance by turning information technology into the accumulator max cape.

Cost saving benefits [edit | edit source]

The ammo retention of the accumulator results in ammunition being fired iii.57 times before it is lost, assuming it is not picked upward from the ground. This means information technology is approximately three and half times cheaper than the price paid. Picking upward ammo would arrive equal to the Ava'due south Assembler'due south 80% ammo retentiveness charge per unit, where each ammunition is fired 5 times before is is destroyed.

Let p ( north ) {\displaystyle p(due north)} be the probability to shoot a single arrow exactly n {\displaystyle n} times and P ( n ) {\displaystyle P(northward)} exist the probability to shoot a single pointer at nigh due north {\displaystyle n} times.

P ( due north ) = p ( i ) + p ( two ) + . . . + p ( n ane ) + p ( due north ) {\displaystyle P(n)=p(1)+p(ii)+...+p(northward-1)+p(n)} .

By definition p ( ane ) = 1 {\displaystyle p(1)=1} because a single arrow can ever be shot once. Therefore we can write P ( n ) {\displaystyle P(n)} in expanded form, knowing that the recovery rate for a single pointer is 0.72

P ( n ) = one + 0.72 + 0.72 2 + . . .0 .72 n one + 0.72 north chiliad = 0 n 0.72 k {\displaystyle P(n)=1+0.72+0.72^{2}+...0.72^{n-one}+0.72^{due north}\implies \sum _{yard=0}^{north}0.72^{k}} .

Using this, nosotros can approximate the mean number of shots you will fire per pointer that yous purchase by letting n {\displaystyle northward\rightarrow \infty } . This creates a geometric series with a = i {\displaystyle a=1} and r = 0.72 {\displaystyle r=0.72} , which has a closed course of

one thousand = 0 0.72 grand = ane 1 0.72 = 3.57 {\displaystyle \sum _{k=0}^{\infty }0.72^{1000}={\frac {one}{ane-0.72}}=three.57} .

Trivia [edit | edit source]

  • If your inventory is full when the accumulator picks up a random metal item, it will instead be dropped to the floor. The exception to this rule is if the item that is picked upwardly can exist equipped into an empty equipment slot. Thus, it is possible for players with 1 Defense to have steel helmets equipped, despite their level 5 Defence requirement.
